This is a replica of the statutory NKVD finka, which was produced by the "Trud" plant in the village of Vacha, Nizhny Novgorod region in 1935-1946.
The Vachinskaya Finka was in service with the state security service, the border guard and the guard of forced labor camps. Interesting fact: in the textbook "Combat Sambo" by V.P. Volkov, according to one of the chapters the NKVD fighters were taught "the basic techniques of working with a short Finnish or Norwegian knife." The Finnish knife in the pictures in the book looked exactly like the Vachin finka.
Finka-2 Vacha is a versatile, lightweight knife of medium size with a developed brass guard of the classic type. The knife is well balanced. The narrow blade with a thickness of 2.4 mm has a barely noticeable 13 mm back-lenticular slopes, forming an excellent cutting blade. The small handle is comfortable for any hand and fits well even in a large palm, while the extended head of the handle adds convenience when using the knife. This replica of the legendary knife will be a wonderful gift for a man of any age, reminiscent of the great victory of the Soviet people.
